Experience old world luxury as you explore India in search of the magnificent Bengal Tiger on the Tiger Safari
With fewer than 3,200 Bengal Tigers left in the wild, finding and photographing the largest of the big cats is extremely exciting. While the Bengal Tiger is the main target species for this safari, India’s rich biodiversity makes it one of the finest places to photograph birds and wildlife such as leopards, sloth bears, nilgais and wild peafowl. There is never a dull moment on the Tiger Safari!
This exclusive safari is based in absolute comfort and style. At the end of each day, return to your luxury tented camp and experience a safari that takes you back in time where sharing stories around the fire and a cold gin & tonic rounds off another fantastic day. Your personal butler will make sure that you have everything you need before you even know you need it.
The Tiger Safari is fully customised – from group size to dates and duration. For those looking to extend your stay in India, we have several options to enhance your experience. Contact our safari specialists to help you plan your dream safari!

Suggested itinerary for The Tiger Safari in India 2025 SPECIAL
Day 1
Upon arrival at Jaipur International Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you to the lodge, right on the border of Ranthambore. Enjoy the journey as you travel through the back villages that make up so much of India and arrive at your luxury resort in time for dinner.
Following a late dinner, retire to your private, air-conditioned tent with draped canopies.
Days 2 - 6
Once the hunting ground of the Maharajah of Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955. It has the largest population of Bengal Tigers, which is more visible and stable today due to conservation efforts and the launch of Project Tiger in 1973. You’ll set out on your morning safari in open gypsy jeeps searching for the magnificent tigers, as well as the wide variety of other wildlife that also live in the reserve. Afternoon safari’s are spent searching the forests for signs of the great cats, and, with a bit of luck, a sloth bear.
Immerse yourself in the natural and cultural surrounds of the lodge with one of the many activities available to guests. Enjoy a trek to the famous 1000 year-old Ranthambore fort overlooking the Tiger Reserve. Explore this ancient fort and, standing at a height of 215m, enjoy the sweeping views of the valley and jungles below. Head into the village and visit a ladies centre to see some wonderful handmade tapestry work and the opportunity to buy some souvenirs. Or, take a dip in the camp’s step-well, or bawadi. Situated within a thick canopy of trees and lined with natural sandstone, the stepwell blends into the natural setting creating a serene space.
Each night, you’ll meet for pre-dinner cocktails/drinks before continuing on to dinner. Indulge in freshly prepared Indian cuisine and a range of Western dishes made from fresh vegetables and herbs grown in the camp’s organic vegetable garden. The evening often concludes around a roaring outdoor fire where we reminisce on favorite stories from the day.
Day 6
After your morning safari, you will be transferred in an air-conditioned car to Agra, where the Taj Mahal awaits you.
You will arrive in time for afternoon drinks on the balcony overlooking the magnificent monument to love, before heading to one of the sumptuous restaurants for a delicious dinner.
Day 7
An early morning breakfast will get you started, so you can be at the Taj Mahal as it opens. The cool morning air is ideal to explore the Taj Mahal, and you will beat the crowds, giving you loads of time to try soak in some of it’s glory. You will have a personal guide throughout the morning, who is passionate about the Taj Mahal, and the surrounding areas. After the Taj Mahal, you will move across to Agra’s Red Fort, which is tied into the history of not just the Taj Mahal, but the Raj’s that ruled the area many years ago.
You will be back at the hotel in time to check-out and enjoy a hearty lunch, before you get transferred to Delhi for your onward travels.
Please note: The above day-by-day Itinerary is only a guideline. The daily itinerary is weather-dependent and sightings-dependent, it could vary slightly.
